Vox Humana Books, a small but growing, independent literary publisher, seeks a publicity and marketing intern to work part-time (10 hours a week) on an indefinite basis. With a number of exciting book projects, as well as ongoing cooperative ventures with NGOs focused on regional arts and culture social issues, the intern will:
- research and develop new Internet marketing opportunities
- contact blogs and other media outlets for publicity
opportunities
- create book reviews and other marketing content for
internet-driven initiatives
- post relevant marketing data across the Internet and heavily
engage in social media marketing activities via Twitter,
Facebook and other technology platforms
Length of Internship: indefinite
Requirements:
- a strong interest in marketing and publicity is essential
- a strong interest in books, publicity, publishing and
literature.
- BA or current college student
- A record of academic success from a top-tier college or
university is preferred.
- Initiative, self-starter with creativity and attention to
detail
- Excellent grammar a must
- Good computer skills, including Excel and Word, and
familiarity with Internet marketing
- The ideal candidate will be smart, versatile, and comfortable
in a fairly fluid role
Not required, but a definite plus:
- experience in book publishing industry
- basic HTML
- Quark experience
- foreign language

Compensation:
The position is unpaid, but if you are eligible to receive credit from your college or university, we can work that out. Travel expenses will be covered. At the end of the internship, a small but fair honorarium will be given.
